Julie Hurst @ Crafts Alive

Every sculpture begins its journey as an obscured, weather-beaten fragment, hidden in the wild landscapes of the Upper Towy Valley. The moment I discover a new piece; I feel an immediate pull-an eagerness to carry this heavy mystery home and see what nature will reveal.

Rather than forcing an arbitrary shape onto the timber, my creative process is an act of uncovering. By peeling back layers of time, earth, and element, a striking form is gently unearthed.

What emerges are fluid, organic forms that bridge the gap between chaotic nature and refined, deliberate artistry. Infused with the abstract grace of birds, dragons, figures, these one-of-a-kind statement pieces do more than occupy space

-they anchor a room.

When you welcome a J. Hurst creation into your living space, you aren't just buying a sculpture; you are inheriting a piece of the forest's ancient story. Let the rich texture, elegant energy, and living spirit of the wood grain breathe a deep, timeless connection to the natural world into your home.
